Ione Parkin studied at Winchester School of Art, graduating in 1988 with a BA Hons Fine Art. She is an elected member of the Royal West of England Academy (RWA) and a prolific artist - the paintings shown here are but a small selection of her work.

 

Her work is held in private collections in Canada, USA, Switzerland, France, Denmark and Ireland, as well as the UK and is also featured in many corporate collections including Reuters HQ, London, Alliance Corporate PLC, Dublin, Taylor Vintners Solicitors, Cambridge and Vera Forsyth Architects, Bath.

 

Ione's paintings reflect her deep interest in geology and the natural environment, informed as they are by extensive travel - from glaciers to volcanic terrain, from mountain ranges to limestone plateaux and from jungles to caves. The experience of this varied stimuli, recorded through drawing, photography and intense observation, forms and nourishes the fertile matrix of her memory.
