Introduction

A quintessential still life painter, Barbette's style and interpretation have a timeless quality.  A multi-talented artist working in egg tempera, oil and watercolour, her portrayals of quince, pear, plum, pomegranate, or a green cabbage, could grace any one of the historic buildings she has restored over the years.

Barbette has been involved in major prestigious restoration works on many historic properties from several Medici dynasty buildings near Siena, to the Kings state rooms in the Tower of London.

She also specialises in 18th century Italian style panel painting and 15th century style  illuminated letters as well as other specialist decorative techniques such as water gilding.  Recently she has concentrated on still lifes in oil and lunnettes, half moon shaped panel paintings usually depicting Italianate landscapes or views of Elizabethan gardens.
