Artists

Fran Donovan studied Fine Art at Southampton and Winchester School of Art culminating in a Masters Degree in Barcelona.  She has produced work in a variety of media and has exhibited widely including the Universitat de Barcelona; Tallers Obert, Barcelona and the Delfina Studio Gallery, London.  Her work is in private collections in Britain, Spain, Italy, America and Australia.

Fran's paintings are memories of the landscape.

She avoids the representational, using memory and emotion as a vehicle.  Her paintings are a product of her experiences of many landscapes she travels through.  The rich variety of images  from her local area help her transform and reinvent what she sees.  The dramatic use of high colour reflects these emotions and also the contrasting power and fragility of nature.
